Topic: Fundamentals of heat stress monitoring and application of ACGIAH threshold limit values.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe difference between heat stress and heat strain
  • Explain the methods of evaluating physiological response to thermal stress
  • Apply court case example to current employer
Speaker:  Mike Schmoldt, CIH, PE, CHMM, CPEA, Progrma Industrial Hygieiest at Argonne National Laboratory

Mike has been an industrial hygienist for over 20 years for both construction and general Industry.  He currently works at Argonne, where he manages the Heat Stress Program and Nano Safety Program.  One of Mike’s previous projects at Department of Energy recently won the National Safety Council Campbell Award for Innovation. Mike has his certifications in CHMM, CPEA, CIH, and PE.

A pizza buffet will be served at by noon. Following the presentation a 45 minute tour will also be available to those interested.
